ABBE refractometer is named after its inventor Ernst Abbe (1840- 1905), is a specialized line of refractometers for the precise determination of the refractive index of liquids. This is also a quite popular refractometer in teaching and research.
The measuring principle of ABBE series meters is based on total reflection principle, is used to measure liquids. A prism with a high refractive index can be selected. The light from the radiation source is reflected by the mirror and hits the double prism. A few drops of sample are placed between this double Abbe prism.
The typical ABBE refractometer lines at Hiep Phat are product lines from the company Kruss
